The Kofila family just grew: Kofila White, plus a few fun Orion facts 🤍☕
Kofila is one of those things many people in Czechia feel like they’ve known forever. A coffee-flavoured chocolate bar that fits coffee time, travel time, and “I just want something small.” It first appeared in 1923 and remains one of Orion’s best-known bars.
And now there’s a new addition that makes simple sense: Kofila White.
What Kofila White is and who it’s for
Kofila White is for people who like the coffee note but prefer a gentler overall taste.
- a white coating feels sweeter and creamier than classic chocolate
- the coffee character stays, but it’s less cocoa-forward
- it fits latte and cappuccino drinkers especially well
It’s not a totally different product. It’s the same idea in a softer style, and that’s exactly what works with classics.
A few interesting Orion roots and why it connects to Kofila
Orion is famous for chocolate bars today, but the story goes back much further.
In the late 19th century, Albína and František Maršner started a small confectionery business in Prague’s Vinohrady area. František had experience trading ingredients like coffee, cocoa, sugar, and spices. Albína was widely described as the driving force with a strong instinct for what people would buy, especially small sweet treats.

They began in modest conditions and gradually expanded, adding more sweets and moving into larger-scale production. The Orion brand came later (often referenced as registered in 1914) and eventually became a household name.
Why mention this? Because Kofila didn’t appear out of nowhere. It grew out of a long chocolate-making tradition where coffee, cocoa, recipes, and packaging were taken seriously.
