This baking mix lets you make soft, fluffy Czech sweet buns (buchty) at home with very little effort. The dough has a gentle sweet, vanilla flavor and bakes up tender and golden. Just add water, an egg and oil, fill the buns with jam, poppy seed, quark or apple, then bake and dust with sugar.

1. Pour the contents of the bag into a bowl, mix with the enclosed dried baker's yeast, 250 ml of warm water, 1 egg and 150 ml of vegetable oil (for sweeter dough add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar). 2. Work into a smooth dough, cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours. Shape the dough into squares, fill with a filling (plum jam, quark, poppy seed, apple) and press the edges together (about 24 buns). 3. Place the buns seam-side down into a greased baking tin, brush with oil, let them rise briefly, then bake for 10 minutes at 200 °C and a further 10-20 minutes at 175 °C. Dust the baked buns with sugar.
